Have you guys read the book "the coddling of the american mind" ? I would highly recommend it.
One of the lines: "we need to be preparing the child for the road, not the road for the child."

I don’t think this is a good way to look at it if we’re simplifying it to absolutes.
You should prepare the child for the road while also trying to improve the road.

what planet do you live on? your president tear gassed a peaceful protest the other day so he could go take a picture with a bible
the fact that you're all defending this is beyond pathetic

The water is muddied when you have assholes coming in and destroying property. I have and will continue to argue all day that protestors and rioters/looters are separate groups, but they all blend together when the rioting starts so it’s virtually impossible to stop one and let the other continue.
Absolutely. That said, peaceful protests ARE being busted up with force where no looting is occurring. Hell, how about busting heads to clear the way for a presidential campaign photo op?
I think this is an interesting time in media as there are such stark differences in what people think is happening on the streets. I haven't watched any Fox or right-wing Twitter but, based on the opinions shared here on a pretty conservative board, it seems obvious they're really highlighting the looting. Meanwhile, for someone like myself who visits more centrist/left sites, I've seen a ton of examples of unnecessary police violence. This is obviously a BIG problem as we can once again not agree on a basic set of facts.

Your credibility is suspect. Feel free to back this claim up.

These were taken inside and outside the Michigan state house during a Covid protest. This is peaceful to you?

You get in argument with someone in a parking lot. They go to their car, grab their long rifle, and walk back over to you holding the gun and screaming at you. Would you consider that a peaceful encounter? Just as peaceful as the same guy who doesn't go to his car to get a gun but just yells at you?

Was my post not spot on though?
I consider you to truly be firmly in the middle with most things, which drives this board nuts. And as someone in the middle, I cant possibly beleive what the democrats have done in the last 4 years will drive you to the polls to vote for them
I truly think Trump will lose the popular vote by more than 2016, because the entrenched left will come out in more numbers in places like CA and NY, but he will win the same or possibly more electoral college votes than last time

SO we've moved on from what actually happened to what a hypothetical?

You live in fricking Louisiana. You have no idea what's going on in states where Trump didn't win by fricking 20 points.

You get in an argument with someone in a parking lot. They go to their car, grab a giant dildo, and walk back over to you holding the giant dildo and screaming at you. Would you consider that a peaceful encounter?
I mean since we're coming up with stupid fricking hypotheticals that have nothing to do with the pictures you posted as examples of "violence".
