And many boomers did not waste 4 years and $100,000 on a worthless theater, gender studies or sociology degree.

This is a dead meme and not true of a large majority of millenials. Also, boomers got great jobs with a high school education. That is damn near impossible today.

Boomers didn't corner this market. Most millenials work just as hard if not harder than boomers and are more efficient.

It is tough to find a nice house in a decent neighborhood in most large cities. Starter homes do not really exist anymore.

When are we gonna get to the part of the thread where people complain about millennials only buying houses with all the upgrades instead of the starter homes that all the boomers tore down?

The economy is better right now that it ever has been.

Maybe if you would quit whining and get off your lazy arse and take advantage...just maybe...

Boomers would call that an opportunity.

Quick question, where do you think millennials learned this stuff? After all, kids don't pop out of the womb as socialists, and they aren't all independently coming up with such a silly idea for society. Somebody's teaching it to them.

And why are they so stupid? After all, an entire generation of stupid people is pretty hard to fathom. Did the gene pool just shite the bed for an entire generation or was there something faulty in their upbringing?

I’ve seen this figure now a few places. What I think isn’t taken into account is that the Greatest Generation had lived through the depression. Most weren’t about accumulating wealth and didn’t have much wealth themselves.

What that means is that there was more wealth to be had by the Boomers in creating markets and gaining of wealth. The booming economy also helped.

There’s only so much “wealth” to go around. If the generation ahead of you doesn’t value wealth and doesn’t have wealth, it’s easier to get wealth.
If the generations ahead of you value wealth, it’s harder to get wealth.

What's to complain about. ALL the money in the Boomers hands will be handed down to the next generation. Can't take it with you. The boomers will trickle down 7 TRILLION dollars in the next 15 years. The younger generations will reap the benefits. And then probably waste all the money on gadgets.

Not to mention that starter homes these days are nearly twice as far from work as the Boomer equivalent starter homes and require more income and time to commute to and from.

What percentage of the overall population did boomers make up at that time verses what percentage will millennials be? The baby boom was an unprecedented massive generation that dwarfed those before and after. They likely were substantially a greater share of the total population at 35 than millennials will be.

Exactly. frick living in the suburbs and commuting an hour each way. The retarded way cities and neighborhoods are laid out is infuriating.

I was lucky to find a nice mixed use neighborhood with bars and restaurants in walking distance.

More likely, the bulk of that money will go to gen-xers to cover their parents’ exorbitant medical bills at the end of life.

That was by-design. Automakers and tire manufacturers colluded with real estate developers and homelenders to create our clusterf$&k suburbs and desegregation and people fleeing the crack epidemic in the inner cities made them explode in popularity. People suddenly had much more pressing needs to escape the cities for good public schools and lower violent crime.
