That house belonged to Theodore's grandfather.
And I think Theodores 2nd wife was actually also Theodores childhood neighbor so she was there also.

Pretty clear picture for 155 years ago. Any chance this photographer snapped a pic of a UFO or big foot?

I take it you've never seen the photo of Abe walking through the crowd just before delivering the GBA? If you look at it very closely you can make out his hat & part of his face.

Roosevelt's wife and mother died within hours of each other, on February 14, 1884. His diary entry for that day simply says, "The light has gone out of my life." He fell into a near-suicidal depression until he went west and threw himself into a new career as a rancher. The tragedy and his subsequent experiences made him a different person, with profpund effects on U S history.

Theodore's uncles also served in the Confederate military, one of whom served on the CSS Alabama.
