This is Dustin Rhodes. That gif is Dusty Rhodes (his dad).

Dustin Rhodes = Goldust.

Color me surprised to see Justin Credible in this story. I never realized he had made it to the WWE. Good for him.

The only thing I can add is that I went to an ECW show in the early 2000s, and Justin Credible called me a fricking pussy to my face, and it was awesome.

Undertaker seemed like a pretty normal dude on that new A&E show where they go find rare WWE memorabilia. Flair is something else. I imagine he was sort of like Macho Man, but even more annoying.

I thought it was that Vince tried to grapple Kurt Angle (awful idea), Taker woke up as Angle was on top of Vince, and Taker misunderstanding the situation choked Angle out. I think Undertaker talked about it on Pardon My Take

That was a different plane ride.

Rasslers going hard on those plane rides

You need to watch the 30 for 30 on Flair. He definitely lived his character.

Any overseas tour sucks but there are a few particular ones that stand out.

One Aussie tour in that same timeframe had a harrowing emergency landing in Russia where they took multiple attempts and heard the pilot screaming that if they didn’t make the last one they would crash. The coolers of booze were empty soon after that, especially since they weren’t allowed to disembark in Russia.

There was another dual tour in Europe when the Iceland volcano erupted and shut down lots of air travel. One crew was grounded and couldn’t make it back to the US for TV so the other group had to floor it in a tour bus to an airport several countries away that wasn’t in the path of the ash cloud in order to fly home and work a TV they weren’t expected to work.

That's similar to how the old ufc fight broke out in England where Tito Ortiz got KOed in the street by Lee Murray (who later was involved in the largest bank robbery ever) and Chuck Liddell knocked out half of England.

when do we talk about the "mechanical issues" that kept most of the roster in Saudi Arabia and forced NXT to take over Smackdown?

still not 100% certain if it was mechanical issues with the plane or if they were essentially being held as political prisoners/kidnap victims due to a contract dispute between the Saudi government and WWE

Not touching that one but not for the reasons you would think.

I am focusing on ones I have more knowledge about, which tended to be covered extensively in interviews or the press at the time I was interested. The Saudi clusterfrick is newsworthy but I don’t know enough about that one to elaborate on it other than Vince making that ten year deal was a really bad idea from a creative and logistical standpoint. Apparently from a money standpoint too if the royal family was stiffing him.
