Did she leave the keys in it?

Car was left unlocked with keys and schedule II controlled drugs left inside. Your guns were nowhere near readily accessible in an emergency need situation. Sounds like the guy picked a good target tbh.

Brother what is the point of having a gun to protect one's home if it's tucked away in an attic where you definitely won't have access to it when someone is imminently threatening you.

Glad your car was fine. Sucks that they didn't just execute the piece of shite.

glad everything went ok but

1) how was he able to jack her car out of the driveway (unless keys were left in car)

2) why does she have Adderall lying around in the car of all places?

you need to do a better job

Who gave him the keys?

Well…first question wife asked, was “how did he get the keys?” I said, “they were probably in the car”.. she thought he had come into the house. There had been several times when keys had been left in the car. But apparently she had asked my kid to get something out earlier.
It was and is not the time to figure out what happened. Not worth it.

I will say that dude basically had no chance of getting away with the car. Reporting it immediately, they put the tag into the system, and traffic cameras pick that shite up. Before the cop even left, he told me where it was first picked up, Euclid and East Blvd….which was NOT where I expected him to be.
They then basically start a web around an area and tighten it, I think they actually blocked a road and caught him.
Just glad he didn’t run and crash it…he’d done that before.

Car is paid for.

Or how about this fricker doesn’t steal shite?
Or how about the justice system locking this fricker up?

What you all are doing is akin to blaming a rape victim for being too sexy, and not blaming the rapist.

We do keep loaded guns in the house. fricktard. For reasons I won’t go into, they were temporarily locked in a walk up attic.

So in the time it took you to locate a firearm, this dude stole your car?

You’re lucky that’s all he did.

What a fricking pussy. How bout you do a post mortem on this situation so you and your wife don’t make the same mistake? You deserve everything bad that happens to you because you refuse to acknowledge responsibility for any of it.

Yeah I'm confused about OP too. Did he come in your house and get the pills and keys when you were upstairs or were they in the vehicle?

She had one of those med boxes in the console…he apparently didn’t like the thyroid meds and spit it out…

This boggles my brain how some people don't realize a medicine bottle in vehicle is often more enticing to a car burglar than a phone or laptop.
The street value of a full bottle of adderall or a decent pain medication is upwards of $300-$600.

Only solution is to find a new, younger and less key-challenged wife.

Why not? Seems you would not catch nearly as much heat as you're catching if you had a valid reason to keep firearms as far away from you as possible.

I was unarmed, I didn’t know if he was, I didn’t know the keys were in the car. Wife was upstairs.
What would you have done?

So let me get this straight.

Your home protection is in the attic, not cocked, not locked, not ready to rock.

You left the keys in your vehicle.

Your wife left medication in the vehicle.

Total that up and you're here bitching about the guy getting out of jail? That's a failure on all fronts for you and your family, take it as a (very lucky) lesson and get better.
