Gary V’s definition of “super successful” is being one of the most powerful and wealthiest people in any room they walk in

Problem is, if EVERYONE followed Gary V’s advice, it wouldn’t work

And there will always be someone more powerful and wealthy than he is, at least one of whom is not a massive tool.

yeah there is definitely a movement by some people to trash living pretty well (and better than 70-90% of people)

however, i will say that there is a huge population of people in that "living pretty well" range who have a culture that i despise as well

a lot of this is just knowing yourself and what you want and figuring out how to carve that out. the problem with that second group is they don't do that really. they just try to acquire all the upper middle class tokens that they can (sometimes going into major debt to do it)

i have a lot more respect for the "hustler" people killing themselves for husling, even if they fail, even though i know that's not really for me (right now, at least).

Striving for that probably works better than not doing so.

I respect the hell out of anyone trying to better their lot in life.

The problem I have with a lot of the "hustlers" is that they never STFU about how they are "hustling"

which generally makes me think that they are nowhere near as successful as they project and are probably in massive debt

I think Gary V's point is that you shouldn't complain about your situation if you're not busting your arse to try and fix it. Too many people, especially young people, think they are entitled for any variety of reasons. Ultimately making a ton of money does it for some people and not for others. But if you want to live the life of a multi millionaire then you probably are going to have to sacrifice to get there.

Nothing wrong with doing pretty well

But if you wanted to be super successful and be a billionaire+ you wont have work life balance

The true hustler and the blowhard don't always overlap. They sometimes do, but not always.

oh yeah

"Entrepreneur"

i went down a worm hole a couple months ago about people exposing the "midset/productivity gurus" and it was great

it's like i say about how to create a successful youtube channel. you have to find a niche that's valuable to people but isn't popular. those mindset guys took over a couple years ago (basically ripping off Joe Rogan and his merry gang, esp Jordan Peterson and Jocko). now they're old news, but the people who don't understand timing are still out there making it popular.

That lady with the "What if you die at 25?"-BS is missing the point.

The snake-oil salesman didn't say anything about being bringing a half-arse luck skills to the table. He never told anybody to drop dead in their 20's. He didn't recommend catching cancer. He said work.
