Let's be honest, even if a study firmly established it was "what [you] thought the answer was" the study wouldn't see the light of day and no media outlet would ever publish it

A study based on demographics and tipping is missing from the article...

That is because they did it by age and not race

The French Quarter gets visitors from all over the U.S. Ask a server at any restaurant in the FQ who the worst tippers are.

Hint: Water with lemon and separate checks.

No doubt.

The old country bumpkin who doesn't like that the restaurant is so expensive will also leave some shitty tips as well.

This will be a great thread for a Friday afternoon on the rant.

I like how the guy in the article gives higher tips instead of donating to organized charity. Their administrative cost are very high.

My kid has waited tables for the last 5 years or so. She said the stereotype is true.

If you want to isolate this by age, of course younger people tip worse. They often have less money.

Boomers rekt the economy and are now bitching that Millennials can't tip good.

Why the differences? “Conventional wisdom says that if you have more money, you tip more,” said Ted Rossman, an industry analyst at CreditCards.com. “So maybe boomers have saved more money, or they have higher salaries if they’re still working.”

Not always true in my experience. Now, it's been 25 years ago, but my first job for a couple of summers was bagging groceries at Albertsons. This was back in the day when we took groceries out to the customer's car for everyone. Anyway, the nicer the car, the less the tip was, if you got one at all.** The best tippers were your working class folk.

**Except for Percy Sledge. That dude would slap a twenty down for you.

Don't forget 23984234 modifications and if you don't get one of those 23984234 modifications right they will send it back AND refuse to pay for it even if they eat it all and lick the plate clean
