This quote shocked me when I read it this morning in the Advocate
quote:

Take the neighborhood of Brookstown, which contains a high density of blighted property and a rising crime rate. The DA’s analysis found more than 350 firearm discharges in a little over half a square mile last year.

Gunfire was reported to police almost every single day of the year last year and they think the solution is to pick up trash and tear down blighted property.

I feel like the exact same applies to Mobile. I can’t find the number but homocides have to be up again this year from 44 last year. It’s clear what the problem is and tearing down abandoned houses ain’t gonna fix it.

I was watching a show earlier where they interviewed a police sergeant who said geography determines crime. I'm not sure if he's stupid or meant demographics, because dirt doesn't determine shite.

I mean, if they want to be anal about it, I guess geography does determine it...if your geography contains a certain demography.

Funny how the geography didn’t equal triple digit murders in the distant past.

If two scumbag drug dealers kill each other is that really an issue for society as a whole?

Yes, because they breed at prolific rates, on our dime. Unless breeding is curtailed and a severe culling of the fold happens, we’re in deep shite. Cancer spreads.

We are at 101 murders now in EBRP

That calculates to roughly 36 per 100,000 if I did that right.

That's because it's racist to publicly announce what the real problem is in Baton Rouge, and Broome wasn't put in office to be tough on crime.

Dixie Maid in Brookstown does make a tasty burger. I'd never risk my life for a meal now but I used to love going there with my dad when I was a kid.

Where was this one? I'd be willing to bet that several are related.
