I’m looking at Craigslist for an $800 and under beater car to play around with and fix up with the intent of learning to fix things properly rather than throw parts at a car when something goes wrong.

Some of my targets are a ~2004 Audi A4 with typical Audi issues or a 2002-2004 Chrysler 300M which can be had for dirt cheap since it’s a Chrysler and therefore a POS.

How much would my insurance increase if I were to buy said beater and put it on my existing policy without collision or comprehensive?

You'll get bored with it and it will end up parked in front of your trailer, unable to start.

Your poor neighbors.....

With just liability? Probably not very much

Sounds like a fun hobby if you have the driveway space.

You should turn it into a doomsday vehicle.

Like something off storm chasers. Stick a fricking snorkel on there, armor plate the windows with gun slots, solid rubber tires, etc.

Maybe have it run off of cooking fat like Willie Nelson's tour bus.

ETA:

And maybe a shag carpet, you know, just in case

Just go to your local ATL Autozone and make people cash offers in the parking lot.

You don’t buy a beater to fix it up. You buy a beater to go off jumps and off road until it’s dead.

This.

Nothing with a control module.

Pre-1981 GM products, about the same time for Fords.

22's aren't even big anymore. That's stock for a lot of vehicles.

And weed is great.

I'm failing to see an issue.

anything other then american or japanese car will be expensive to repair.

toyotas hold value the best, average lasting 300-400k miles if taken care of, and they are easy to fix, parts are cheap, youtube has videos showing you how to fix anything that needs fixing
