Not lawyer there but have some professional friends that moved there from New York, a few years back, and a cousin in music industry you would know that who lives there. They all love it.

Why don't you contact the Adams family who moved the Oilers to Nashville to become the Titans? Might be teh best source.

A friend has law degrees from Vandy and is still paying them off. I'd expect the Vandy connection has been worth it, though.

You might want to check out and find if your and your wife's lack of a a hoity-toity Vandy connection would be an invisible fence to your ambitions.

They had a great little farm to table restaurant near a church that I ate at. I believe it occupied an old plantation house. Great place and terrific food. Sadly, I believe it closed in 2019. Edit ... restaurant name escapes me at the moment.

I believe you are referring to Homestead Manor. Used to do a farmer’s market there during the spring and summer months too. Beautiful property. Hate it went under.

And more Mexican establishments than you can shake a stick at. Pancho’s, Tito’s, Amigo’s, Acapulco and Don Arturo’s all within a 5 mile radius. Not to mention Tex Mex spots Cali Burrito and Bodega on Main.

I apparently moved to the "up and coming" area of Nashville (the nations) which is full of young hipsters with dogs. No kids except for mine it seems, but they're building a lot of new houses out here which are nice.

Nashville traffic sucks in general. I-65 is not as a bad as I-24 though.

To clarify, I'm referring to places like Antioch and Smyrna that are southeast of Nashville. I-24 west of Nashville may be fine but I'm not sure.

Do not live in Murfreesboro

This.

I'd rather eat glass than commute from Franklin or Mt Juliet to downtown. Fifteen years ago it was fine, but Nashville is becoming Atlanta 2.0. No chance I make that commute now.

The Nations is an awesome urban neighborhood. A ton of food and drinks all within walking distance. People with expendable income. Quick access to downtown and midtown.

Can you elaborate here, CAD?

I live in Spring Hill. Besides chains and a million Mexican joints, there’s not a lot to speak of - Mockingbird is good, Martin’s BBQ but it’s a local chain too, and 55 South are about it (and they also have their main location in Franklin).

We usually drive to Franklin to eat out, or go to Circa which is in Thompson’s Station.

But to OP, I agree with others, the greater Nashville area is fantastic, but you want to live in Williamson County, period.

So I currently have an hour long commute on average. Sometimes 1h 15m. Sometimes 50m. Without traffic, I can get to work in around 35 to 40 minutes. So traffic adds anywhere between 10 and 40 minutes to my commute.

Is that the level of bad we’re talking? All things are relative after all.
