I’ve got a bottle of Percocet and a 12 pack of light beer waiting on my next one. I’ll be damned if I’m going to the ER for the next one to get a 1000 bill for a CT scan and 2 minutes of doctor time to tell me I have one and it’ll pass.
If I go to the ER again for a kidney stone, it’ll be after the 3rd episode with that stone of excruciating pain. The pain episodes are urine pressure building up in the kidney as it tries to push the stone. If you have intense pain followed by reduced or no pain, the stone has moved. Once it gets to the bladder you’re home free. I’m going to take my Percocet and start drinking and sitting in a hot bath next time and saving some money.
(I got the Percocet from my last kidney stone and never had to use it. The pain that I went to er for was enough to pass stone and I never had any other pain - I was at er pain free and they couldn’t locate stone on ct).

A few opioids, like oxy and hydrocodone but you will need a Doctor if they still write the strong stuff.
They may be scared to write those prescriptions now so you may be good with just NAISD, like Ibuprofen or Aleve.
There is prescription stuff of the ibuprofen and aleve that is just more than the OTC dosage.
I couldn’t take the opioids when I had my stone, it felt like I was drunk and I felt even more bloated as I couldn’t shite. Eventually, my pain subsided after peeing out some sandy material but not the stone. The doctors eventually had to go get it a month later and knock on wood I have not had another one.

If you’ve never had a kidney stone and made the diagnosis with google I’d consider going to an ER and getting a scan. Doesn’t sound like a classic presentation of a kidney stone. Could be a few other things.

Somewhat. I had one in my bladder for 2.5 weeks. I had to deal with a little discomfort and that constant urge to pee for 2.5 weeks. I went to the doctor after a few days and got the scan just for them to tell me it was in my bladder. It became debatable which is worse, the 4 hours of intense pain or the misery of bladder pressure for that long. I was drinking about 4 liters of water a day and light exercise and couldn’t get it to move. So home free is when it totally exits for me.

I went to the ER when I had my kidney stone. Pain caused me to hyperventilate and nearly passed out. If pain is getting worse I recommend going to ER.

I’ve had a couple of bouts with kidney stones. Drink lots of water. I usually start puking at some point. Just a warning. The body wants to stop the intake.
I have talked to women who have experienced child birth and kidney stones and they said passing a stone was the worst.

I hope you mean a .09 mm seeing as that a 9mm would be something like .39 of an inch. Don’t think that is going to come blasting out the ole pee hole.
I have had a few over the years but recently I had one that was estimated between 10mm-11mm. It was a doozie!!
Had an ER visit - Those drugs were IMMEDIATE RELIEF!!
If you go to the ER don't let them give you an MRI or Catscan. Request a regular XRAY. My Urologist told me they use regular XRAYs because it is the best way to determine the location and size of the stone.
I tried the Lithotripsy first and it did nothing to my stone. Had to have the Uteroscopy to blast it with the laser. I peed out the little pieces about a week later within 24-48 hours after the stent came out.

I have had over 10. The way the pain can come and go I often think the percocet doesn't work quick enough to matter.
The hot bath is good advice. 4 otc 150 ibuptofens are the same as one rx strength. I am a BC guy and I will take two of the Greens.
Only thing I ever had worse pain with was when I woke up after my first back surgery was botched. ER nurse told me her stone pain was worse than childbirth.

Just had one last week. Tramadol 100MG twice a day worked like a charm. Drink Cranberry Juice, and light beer. Stay away from Caffeine and soft drinks.

Fill the bath tub with as hot of water that you can stand.
This is my best way of relieving the pain when the damn thing makes its way through your urinary tract. As hot as you can stand and I find the relief almost immediate, but doesn't last long once the water cools and you get out the tub.
I've had over 20 damn stones over the years and as they pass through your system, they hurt like hell. When you start to feel like you need to pee but can't do more than a squirt, you know it is getting close to passing.
Use one of those paint strainers or a small metal kitchen strainer to catch the damn thing and let a urologist send it for analysis to find out what is causing this to happen. For me, it was excess Uric Acid, the same thing that causes gout, even though I've never had gout.
I was prescribed Allopurinol, a once a day tablet and haven't had a stone since I've been taking that med-----and I don't miss them one bit.

I had three miserably painful bouts with them over a period of a couple years, but didn’t ever notice that I had passed the stones. Turns out, the little bastards had found a hiding spot in my bladder for a couple of years.
I started to get that urge to pee all the time, doc couldn’t figure it out, then there was a bit of pain every 5 minutes. Drove me crazy for a couple weeks. Then out of seemingly nowhere, I passed three stones in the span of a week. But it wasn’t accompanied by that slit-your-wrist pain associated with kidney stones.
Last time I had a kidney stone, I felt it move every mm of the way from kidney to bladder, and it passed that night. I thought a pack of rabid wolverines were fighting inside my lower right abdomen.

I think our ureters can only accommodate a 3-4mm.
I passed one 1/4 inch across by almost 1/2 inch long. That one had me on the floor a few times in the week it took to finally pass.

I’ve passed a few and even IV pain meds don’t alleviate that pain.
Keep forcing the water.
Soaking in a hot bath may help.
The only relief is to pass it. Sucks!
