Thirty percent of Iranian youth between the ages of 15-24 neither work nor study, according to figures published by the Labor Ministry and quoted by ILNA news website.
The figures are based on an international statistical model called NEET, an acronym for “Not in Education, Employment, or Training”. NEET is commonly employed as a socio-economic measurement in many developed countries, including Japan, South Korea, the United States and Canada.
The NEET figures are usually compatible with other unemployment figures based on government-generated statistics. In Iran also, the 30 percent figure is close to the official rate of youth unemployment, which is said to be 26 percent.

Well...... 40 years of economic sanctions will do that to you. Frankly, I’m surprised it’s not worse.

I don’t understand how this happens. The concept of not having a job, even when I was a full time student, never entered my mind. Hell, for much of my LSU career I had two or even three side gig jobs going at once.

Why are you comparing US kids against Iranian kids? Does this mean our youth aren't as worthless as we thought? One thing I HATE with this culture of kids is how many of their dumb asses text and drive. It's an epidemic. I see it every day and I want to strangle those dumb frickers.

You ever pause to think it might be because females are repressed from doing such things in that age group?

Well, the Islamic Revolution and Hostages was carried out by Iranian students.
They get what they deserve.
They get what they deserve.

I have to give credit where credit is due - my boy (a millenial -
) once had 4 jobs, albeit briefly.
Keep in mind this wasn't all that long after I converted his room to a gym while he was in Afghanistan because he was lazy AF that summer before.

Surprises me very little. Three years in Iraq showed me that middle-eastern men do very little. And the women’s labor won’t get counted in the stats.

Who supports them? Does Iran have a liberal welfare state?

The CIA will fire them up, they'll start a revolution, and Iran will be the 51st state.

Figuring out how to make bombs at home takes lots of time

So the ones swinging from the monkey bars at the training camps aren't included in this statistic?
