Volleyball.
A serve or spike can throw the shoulder out of joint.

Dive for a ball in league softball.
I've always played the infield, and I've never been afraid to get dirty.
I dove for a ball last summer, and I was sore for two weeks. My shoulder still makes a grinding noise.

Drink a case of beer.
Drink a box of wine.
Attack a handle of captain Morgan with a ferocity which would make blackboard cringe.

I'm 47
Jumping out of the bed of my truck terrifies me now. I can do it, just hate it
i can do anything that I could do 20 years ago.

Over Thanksgiving I went outside with my nephew to toss the baseball. I haven't thrown a baseball since middle school. I was "ok" throwing it, my accuracy was a little off but not terrible, now catching it was another story. The first ball I "lost in the sun" causing me to duck and squeal like a little bitch as it hit me in the back of my ribs. A mix of worsening eyesight, drinking waaaay too fricking much over the years and messing up my hand eye coordination, just becoming softer, etc made it much more difficult than I imaged. I'm glad I have this anonymous message board to spill my guts, because I've been embarrassed for a week and needed to get that off my chest. I can't imagine lining up in a batters box trying to hit a fastball. Oh and I was a collegiate athlete, so I'm not unathletic and still in decent shape. I just grew into a blind pussy. I'll stick to drinking beer and playing whiffle ball from now on.

Dive for a ball
A couple years ago I was tossing the football around with my brother and a few relatives before an LSU game and he threw me a pass that led me a little too much and I had to dive for it. I used to do this all the time, used to play tight end in high school, didn't think twice about it. I actually caught the pass but I hit the ground pretty hard and it was literally a few minutes before I could even get up. It was the first time I ever felt that kind of pain, kind of an internal ache that didn't go away for a while.
Yeah, I think I'm done with diving for the ball. Check please.

I was still sure that I could get my hand or even just fingers above the basketball rim. Sadly, this is now out of my reach.
I read the title and came in here to day I can't touch the rim anymore. Just found that out a couple months ago. Sad day it was.
