I’m a firm believer in you get what you pay for. When it comes to buying anything, I look for what is going to give me the best value for my investment.

shite, I'm going cheap as possible at a hotel

That’s how you end up with a room next to someone playing rap music until 4 in the morning and you can smell the weed in your room. Then there will come the time where there won’t be any noise or talking coming from the room but roughly every 20-30 minutes it sounds like someone is being thrown against the wall. Also there is a door that is constantly slamming or there’s random outbursts of yelling, hooping and hollering, or laughing.

If it’s not in one of the rooms next to you, it’s most certainly going on the parking lot outside your room. There’s a 50/50 chance your vehicle will be broken into.

Toilet paper
Aluminum foil
Trash bags

It’s not worth the mess to go cheap with those 3 items.

Tools: quality tools are generally a pleasure to use, more pleasure = less frustration which normally leads to a better job. It is amazing how much difference something as simple as a Wera screwdriver or Joker wrench and NWS or Knipex pliers make doing even the simplest jobs a pleasure.

Care maintenance/repair: things like tires and brake pads/rotors hold your life in their hands and quality parts and fluids extend the life of what for most people is one of their largest expenditures

Hobbies : I do them for pleasure I don't want the quality of the widgets I need to do the hobby causing frustration I don't need that original Bridge City Toole Works block plane to do the job but it males me happy to use it and just look at it while I am using it

Clothes : quality clothes look good, are comfortable, and last a long time, whether you are sitting at a desk or digging a ditch.

Everyone is limited by budget at some level but I see a lot of people in life as they get more disposable income concentrating on buying more and more cheap shite instead of buying better products. Not everyone's brain is wired the same but IMO concentrating on getting better quality items that you use every day or frequently produces more joy than a mountain of low quality Chinese disposable crap. YMMV

Everything. The older and more experienced you become, the more you learn that the name brand more expensive shite is like that for a reason.

Firearms.
Batteries.
Work gloves.
