I talk/text my wife like I'm a horny teenager. Especially if she texts from her work phone, that goes over well.

I’ve always been interested in playing D&D, but never had any friends who were into it.

Yeah man. It’s a fun way to escape reality and have some laughs for a little while.
You could always visit local game store and join a public game. But in my experience you’re gonna encounter a lot of the stereotypical nerds with no social skills and some general weirdness.
My group is a little nerdy but we are pretty normal.
