Taking a three week trip with some friends in January down to Lake Atitlan, Guatemala where we will stay for a week or so before headed to La Ceiba by bus on the Honduran coast.

Planning on doing a lot of sight seeing and checking out some Mayan ruins, town markets, and of course some good food and local refreshments. Any recommendations?

Also, really excited about fishing/diving Atitlan but I've heard online that you don't want to eat anything you catch out of the lake because of a bacteria buildup. I'm big into spearfishing and may just wait until I get to Honduras/Roatan.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

With your favored Dems/progressives/Neo-Coms in power, we're well on our way to this. Enjoy, you've supported and encouraged it. So check out our future maybe you'll change your mind.

I've heard good things actually about Guatemala. Still, best not get to adventurous. Honderous on the other hand is an epic shithole by all accounts. It yearly vies for most murders per capita in the world.

Just curious.....why Guatemala and Honduras? Of all the places in the world to travel to, what was the draw here?

My Dad pretty much lives at Lake Atitlan. Spends about 6 months a year there. He travels for a living but Lake Atitlan is his favorite place by far. And the sailfishing is great. Brother guided a trip down there and loved the fishing.

Do you own the bar with all of the SEC flags, except Alabama? We were there this summer. Loved it.
