Go see the Nathan Bedford Forrest monument before it disappears.
Don't venture too far south of Beale St.

B.B. King's on Beale for the music
Flying Saucer Draught Emporium is just off of Beale. Tons of good drafts there.
It's not really "fine dining" but Brother Juniper's by the University of Memphis is great for breakfast.

If you like cheesecake then go to the Cheesecake Corner by the Civil Rights Museum. The service is pretty bad, but the cheesecake is the best I've ever had.
It's kind of a soup nazi experience

Spent a lot of time in Memphis when my nephew was in St Jude's. Outside of the zoo and the hospital, Memphis is a shite stain.

This place is mediocre and a chain. The fact that it's seriously mentioned proves how bad Memphis is

Central BBQ for wet ribs
Corkys for dry ribs
Rendezvous for bbq nachos
Coletta's for bbq pizza (not like any kind of bbq pizza you have had before. Go risk getting shot to go to the one on south parkway. Alot of history, especially with Elvis at that location)
My family has always lived in Memphis, but not once have I been to Graceland but heard it was interesting. Bass Pro shop is amazing. Its not like they have more than the other stores, but it's so massive. Cost $5 to take the elevator up to the top before 4 PM, $10 afterwards. Not sure if its free though if you go to their restaurant though.
My brother goes to law school, and they do a law review which is just going out to bars. I went before, and there are a lot of nice bars outside of beale street, just can't think of them off the top of my head. Of course, there is also Silky's that has that bucket of liquor drink.

Dig up Forrest. I hear that is a popular activity.

-For nicer dining, check out Hog & Hominy and Restaurant Iris.
-Midtown Memphis has some good bars and restaurants.
-Wiseacre Brewing, Tennessee Brewery, Hammer & Ale are all cool bars.
-Gus's fried chicken, Leonard's BBQ, and Central BBQ (by the Civil Rights Museum) are great.
-Check out Overton Park/Memphis zoo, The Peabody, and a baseball game if they are playing.
-If you want a real late night, hit up Raiford's Disco.
Enjoy. Memphis is an underrated town.
Agree with all this. Check out Flight if you want a really good meal but don't want to leave downtown. If you're down to travel a little than I would go for Hog and Hominy

Bardog is right there which is one of my favorite bars anywhere. Some nice places off main street too.
Went a few weekends ago and am flying back late August for a charity and drinking event

I actually think I remember Bardog and it being one of the better bars.
My highest recommendation will always be Coletta's for bbq pizza though. Back when they still granted you whatever meal you wanted for your last meal on death row, that would have been it for me. Its less a pizza and more pulled pork slathered and baked with bbq sauce on bread with cheese baked in too. Might not sound 100% delicious the way I'm describing it, but I do hope that bbq pizza is the last thing I eat before dying.
