Cotton is great. But Parish has the best food in the city, and some of the best in the state.

I hope OP reports back afterwards. I feel like we’ve given him several evenings worth of things to do.

Tour of Bawcomville
Absolutely. Might have to sign up, but a tour of the huge truck nut manufacturing plant is a must.

Check out a ULM football practice. Bring us back a scouting report.

I don’t really hate the town. I jumped aboard the small town hate train. I had a bad experience there once and got a little keyboard happy.

Monroe has a surprising good food scene. There are some decent bars. Other than that you could tour the Chenault aviation museum or bring a boat and go fishing.
How is Ray’s PeGes after it moved under new management?

I used to hit Mohawk many times when I lived in Monroe.

Go adopt a new family member at OPAS in West Monroe. It’s an extremely high kill shelter due to space and citizens there who don’t fix or care for their pets. Some beautiful animals land there. They try their best to save them, but most don’t get out.

That one was 9 right?
I think I only ever started one round there and didn’t finish

Not that great imo. They still have a good burger but the roast beef poboy blows now. Magic Grill on 18th is a much better option.
Also, OP can drive 20 minutes east on I-20, take the Holly Ridge exit, head north a couple miles and see the largest construction site in North America. It's a sight to behold.

when my dad was in st francis i enjoyed walking across the bridge to the little seafood place on the ouachita. can't remember the name of it but the patio was good for my soul.
biedenhorn gardens are nice if you're into that type of thing; they still have 5 cent cokes in the coke machine in the courtyard.
like others said, there's alot of good places to eat in monroe and if you're wanting to bring something home for the mrs, hit up my bff at Judy Martins.
cornier's is right next door and they may still have crawfish.
lots of things to do in monroe and being from there i can find 100 ways to entertain myself.

My son recently got married in Monroe. My wife and I were impressed with the city.

Now it’s called Trap’s. Owned by same guy as Field House (a former ULM football player).
I can’t remember what it was called in the 90s. I’m sure someone will.

Bayles Landing. It was a cool place. It's now Trapps. More cajun, less seafood, but still a good lunch spot.
