When I go to someone's house I always bring something to add to the spread.(Food, drink, flowers, etc.) Even if I wasn't asked. In a plastic or disposable serving dish. And I always leave it there.
When people come to my house and start asking for ziplocks or tupperware so they can scrape the container of dip they brought out and bring it home...it aggravates me.
Unless it is something you brought for personal sipping use, or in one of your dishes you don't want to lose....leave it there.

One of my best friends is a functional alcoholic. Once a month or so he'll tie one on and call me. That's fine. but it's impossible to get him off the phone in that state.
