Restaurants outside of special occasions
There are still people like that. A few yrs ago I met a guy outside Austin on business, and asked him to recommend some restaurants in the city. He said he never ate out, aside from McDs occasionally.

Things that were cheaper for boomers:
Homes
College
Taking care of children
Groceries
Boomers had considerably higher salaries compared to all of these costs.
Many boomers are STILL working, keeping those top level positions and salaries for themselves.

The youngest Boomers are 59 right now. It makes sense a decent percentage are still working.

One of the many many many studies that have been done in this. If you want more google it yourself.
Purchasing Power per Generation

Boomers fricked all of us over and pulled up the ladder so that they could all sell their family homes to move into assisted living while trying to live forever stretching out every last second of their pointless existence leaving their children with frick all. Most selfish cocksuckers

I’m generation x
The real difference I notice from x and before and those after is access to things.
The internet has allowed us to buy virtually anything 24/7.
X and before we had to wait until a store opened or order it from a catalogs. This led to a lot of non purchases as we changed our minds and saved some money.
Every generation fixes a problem from the previous generation then creates a whole new one for the next group

Oil changes
Jiffy Lube has been around since the 70s, who was using those then?

Someone to change our tire
AAA predated me driving, I'm a boomer and they did change tires for folks, though usually women.

Lawn services
Not the poors, I guess.

Restaurants outside of special occasions
Sure they did. Andy and Barney ate down at the diner regularly but they were older than Boomers so

Brand new vehicles
Who was buying all those cars then?

College loans
Absolutely they were

I doubt you're a boomer. What year were you born, anyway?

Yep, and often see the folly of their "fixes" a little too late.

People who argue about generational differences are very low IQ
You said this in defense of an OP whose exclusive purpose was to argue the superiority of a specific generation.
So, have fun at the low IQ club, I guess.

Ok, but you could play that game by taking it one step further. Things two generations before boomers didn’t pay for:
Electricity
Cars
Insurance
Televisions
Etc.
So what’s your point?
Technology both complicates life and also makes it easier. More things are created, more costs are inevitable.
