The only way China will get involved is if the US invades North Korea.

What if the US has back channel talks with China about intervention? Would the US even be better off if China were in control of NK? I think the people of NK would have a better existance, but I don't know how the SK would feel about China knocking on their door.

China is at least rational. I say if NK does try to start something, we just hold the defensive line and let China come in the back door and clean up the mess inside the country. If they want the valuable natural resources in NK, they can also have the humanitarian crisis that goes with them.

Ya I wouldn't be surprised if a unification of the Korean peninsula is preceded by total Chinese control of the North for a few decades.

Might possibly be the best route to go about it at this point, regardless of China's feelings about it.

I know you're not implying this, but I can assure you that China won't handle the NK humanitarian crisis in a humanitarian way.

I think that's the biggest issue. No one wants to be saddled with cleaning up that mess. It's one of the things that makes the situation so dire.

Just line up all our MCLCs and detonate. No doubt they will sustain casualties until our CAS/CCA assets silence their guns.

Really? Do you not think crazy Kim would use Nukes or dirty bombs? If they went to war, Kim has nothing to loose by using the big stuff.

China would probably just slaughter all the north koreans to fix the humanitarian mess.

They have no viable nuclear delivery system yet from all accounts. Most assumptions though they would definitely use chemical and biological agents against coalition forces.

Honestly and sadly, this. Out of the frying pan into the fire.

It would basically be akin to the US killing all the holocaust survivors.
