Agree. Or very soon. Things like this do not take long to figure out. If it was intentional, I think we would see something very soon.

If this was intentional, this will become the biggest thread in TD history.

I pray it was nothing and nobody got hurt. Do not want to see my homeland torn apart.

Haven't seen anything else mentioned on the explosion but did see one tweet saying it was caused by an accidental fire.

No, governments think it's just a game. My point was there are millions of lives at stake in North Korea. It's time that South Korea kicks NKs butt once and for all. Unify the region, millions will be better for it in the future. But hell their lives don't matter correct?

Do you know how much it would cost South Korea to reunify?

Yonhap is reporting that North & South still no closer to an agreement after 12 hours of talks and that the US reaffirms our commitment to the South's defense.

South Korea doesn't have a few trillion dollars to throw around, nor do they have the ability to turn around 25 million people who know essentially nothing about the real world.

It's just going to take a little longer for Kim to figure out how to save face and walk away with something to brag about to him people.

What we had then was (mostly) was guys on foot with rifles going up against the Chinese - the NK army folded relatively quickly until China got involved.

Also, we did not have precision-guided weapons, AC-130's, Warthogs, cluster munitions, fuel-air explosives, etc. etc. Also, the South Korean army wasn't much back then either. Today they're much more capable.

The NK would be crushed like bugs in Round 2 and it wouldn't be close. The bigger problem would be dealing with refugees.

What is everyone's thought that China or possibly Russia would become involved in military action for NK?

I don't think China would be involved unless S Korea threaten to push way beyond the NK boarder. I say Russia because I think It may be a chance for Putin to poke at the US a little.

Russia - nyet

China - If NK actually launched an invasion the Chinese might well respond by invading NK with the intent of setting up a replacement puppet government to avoid having a border with a new (unified) pro-Western Korea. Highly likely that both China and the US would try to defuse anything else.

Russia does not care about Best Korea. At all. And I don't think Putin wants the world to see his paper tiger of a navy.

The only way China will get involved is if the US invades North Korea.
