I don’t know what has changed in the 15 years I moved out but my parents have started keeping their house at about 60 degrees. My wife and I brought our 3 kids for the weekend and we all woke up freezing. I went to change the thermostat and saw it was 64 degrees. The high today where we are is 47. Apparently the normal temp they keep the house is 67 so they didn’t understand my concerns about the icicles forming inside the windows.

I opened this thread thinking it was going to be complaining that it was 80 in the house.

You can wear clothes to make yourself warmer.

Sounds like one of my g'pas was. Too cheap to turn on the heat, my poor grandma used to sleep with a sweater on some nights.

I rather sleep in a cold house where I can use a electric blanket then hot arse house where I want to kick puppies.

I’d rather be able to cozy up under a lot of covers then be sweating my dick off

I agree, but there's a time when maybe the heat is a good idea like when it's in the 30's outside especially if you're 80+ years old.

I'm with you though, give me a cold house and ill bundle up rather than sweating cock n balls all night.

Same.

Yesterday I woke up legit pissed the heater was on all morning because my dad turned it on.. He had it on 72, but the inside temp read 75.. and it was hot. I believe outside temp was 68-70.

I have the hardest time sleeping with the heater on.. especially in a hot room to begin with.

Seems like older people I know are easily cold and the younger people are typically hotter.

Ya’ll ever consider they don’t want you staying with them?

I wouldn’t either.

47 and 67 > 32, Clark.

I am fine under the covers and dealing with it. When my 4, 3, and 1 year old all wake up multiple times in the middle of the night to tell us they are cold, it gets a little old. We gave the kids extra blankets and put them in their jackets to sleep.

I wish I could get out of coming here for Thanksgiving.

House at 64 really isn’t that cold for kids if you are a good parent and dress them accordingly.
