I live in Lakeview and my sauces tell me that when the room reached the legal capacity of 150, the security guard stopped allowing people to enter. An argument at the door resulted in one of the people wanting to get in, punching the security guard and the guard called for police backup to assist in an officer being assaulted.

When NOPD receive a call for assistance from a fellow officer, ALL units respond. The response was APPROPRIATE. Crowd was controlled and no shootings, looting, stabbings, or injuries. Excellent police work. Hope this is a sign of things to come in Orleans Parish.

Key lesson: Don’t punch an officer just doing his job!!!!

We used to rent venues all over BR, Ascension, and Livingston for all ages concerts back in the 90’s. Venue made you carry insurance and security. We would have killed for a turnout like that, and the off duty cops would have called it in.

Also, just for reference, Catholic High boys pulled a gun once. shite happens when you put a bunch of kids together.

Shocked that that KOC hall would allow that party

Illegal not to.

All that happen was the friends with invitations told their friends without invitations to show up so you had hundreds of kids that couldn’t get in the KOC facility due to over occupancy so they just hung out on the street. It was just a bunch of kids from St. Aug. Besides the commotion from all the kids and liter which was quickly cleaned up to my knowledge it was appropriately handled.

Doesn’t St Dominic control this KOC Hall?

No - KofC halls are not controlled by local church parishes. And not by the local diocese. A KofC hall is owned and controlled by a corp. or LLC that consists of members of the local KofC council. KofC Supreme Council doesn't allow it's local councils to own & operate a hall, but the council can form it's own legal entity to do this.

And if the hall is advertised as available for rental, the LLC can't deny a group or individual from renting without some good reason.
