Because of all the posts about schools and St. George.

In order to have a school district it needs to pass the Legislature, the state, and all of ebr. This is not a given based on Central barely getting their district in the ebr vote and only 54% supporting the city on Oct 12.

The ebr schools in the St. George area area not failing. They are A(2), B (2), and C (1). Plus, families in the area have access to magnets (among the best in the state) and BASIS south (one of the best charter groups in the US).

If you down vote, back it up with FACTS. If you can't, you are an idiot!

School scores are available at Louisiana belives.

You're just realizing that? It takes awhile. There is a process.

EBRSS is ranked in the mid 50s out of 60-something school districts in the state. The state is at or near last in the country. Yea, I'd say the school system in EBR is failing. There is also all of one high school in the StG area.

So it's NOT safe to move back yet? I'm having trouble keeping up, but thanks for keeping us posted. We will remain patient yet vigilant.

Some of the best schools in the EBR district are in the St. George zone. Take away those schools, and the overall average will be even lower than it already is. Woodlawn might become St. George High someday.

No they don't. You are wrong. There are 0 elementary magnet programs in the priority zone for the ST george map.
Westdale academic, FLAIM's, BRSCVP are all in one priority zone. Mayfair is also not avilable for most folks

So you are entering into lottery after priority zones are filled.

But what happens to the kids in magnet schools? The Advocate and WAFB said that over 4000 would be displaced. I even got a text from the mayor

The students of ST. George go to Shenendoah (A, national blue ribbon), Parkview (A, national blue ribbon), and woodlawn elem. (B). Plus have equal access to Wham, Brflaim, and brcvpa all A national blue ribbon schools. Plus they have access to Baton Rouge Magnet High ( the best school in the BR metro area). Brmhs has taken all applicants the last 2 years and will take all applicants this year.

There is no priority zone for BrFlaim or BRMHS. FACT.

You are another idiot that doesn't know the facts, but yeah all EBRPSS schools are crap.

Woodlawn gets a C grade. It's the only non magnet HS in BR that isn't a D or F.

And it is the High school for the St. George area plus over 600 students in the area go to Lee Magnet (A school) or BRMHS (one of the top hs in the US). Lee and BRMHS are taking all applicants since both are full magnets. Zachary High was a B school last year. FACT!

Last I checked, B is better than a C.

Let me guess, you live in St George and have kids at one of the magnet schools? How did I do?
