I'm talking about K program. Shenandoah and parkview has no K program. You are also talking about putting kids future based on lottery.

Calling others names isn't a great argument

I have a certain amount of sympathy for people that might lose access to the magnet programs. If St George gets an isd it will be years down the road though. Plenty of time to plan ahead.

Feel free to put your kids into the EBR system. Some of those "magnet" elementary schools look good on paper, but follow what they feed to in middle and high school. Plus, they can and will move your little sweet pea around to whatever failing school they want and slap a "magnet" label on it in a second. FACT!

BRMHS (one of the top hs in the US)

According to who?

US News and World Report, Niche School Rankings, both have them in the top 1% of High schools in all of the US.

In Zachary, They don't have access to BRMHS.

The average high school student that lives in St. George that attends a public school already out performed those that live in Central or Zachary. FACT. Louisanabelieves.org

Woodlawn's score × 800 plus lee's score × 250 plus brmhs's score × 500.

I’m not understanding your argument. You’re pointing out how great the students in the StG area are performing, which is true. When they eventually become their own ISD, their scores will remain high while EBR’s take a hit. What exactly are you trying to prove?

Niche Baton Rouge area school rankings.

You know I went ahead and decided to look up what you’re claiming and searched EBR public high school grading. You’re right, BRMHS is ranked as an A+ school and the best public school in EBR. But something funny happened, the highest rated non magnet school and the number 3 public school overall, and an A rated school is the school you keep try to tell me isn’t all that good and not as good an option as what St. George residents already have access to.

Zachary is rated #3 only behind BRMHS and U Lab. Two extremely selective, extremely niche schools, where as Zachary takes everyone in the Zachary school district.

It looks like Zachary is a true success story.

And do you know what #9 according to Niche and the second highest rated non select school in EBR is? Central. Even your own ranking website disputes your assertion Zachary and Central are worse off than EBR schools

And it is the High school for the St. George area plus over 600 students in the area go to Lee Magnet (A school) or BRMHS (one of the top hs in the US). Lee and BRMHS are taking all applicants since both are full magnets. Zachary High was a B school last year. FACT!

They will graduate before SG cranks up their ISD. Don’t stress out.

I’ve read an argument on FB about this recently. EBRSS has bastardized the “magnet” name by slapping it on a ton of schools that aren’t magnet. It’s a ploy attempting to attract ppl to their schools.

I’m sorry, but Glen Oaks Medical “Magnet” School, isn’t on the same page as a Lee Magnet, or BR High.

Yeah his argument is weird. Basically he's saying you have to send your kids all the way across town to get a good education at a school you have to apply to get into and comparing to a public school that accepts anyone in it's area.

Why should I have to pull my kids out of one of the best schools in the country to appease a guy who didn't like black kids on Woodlawn's baseball team which is where all of this started.

All of the supports on this board either don't have kids in school or have kids in private schools.

I have a 10th and 7th grader in ebr schools and it has been great. Now those that have opted out want to take away my choice.

Maybe because not all of us can send our kid across town and would like to have the local area school be enough.

fricking what?!?!?

Ahhh now we are back to this is a racist movement. Ok I know you can be ignored now because you’re just upset you didn’t get your way. If your kid is in one of the best high schools in the state, he will graduate before anything happens. Chill out

I thought that a stance of “frick you got mine” was supposed to be the epitome of white privilege.

Wait! This StG movement was started over African Americans on Woodlawn's baseball team? First I hear about this.

Start worrying or move. The seventh grader might not graduate in time.
