I am an insurance agent, and I was talking about this months ago 9n Baton Rouge radio. The shite has, predictably, hit the fan. There are lots of reasons why, but our elected Commissioner is an idiot, and has not made anything better...

Farm bureau will never leave the state of Louisiana.
They are a co op of sorts and a lobby for Congress (I know) that is part of the problem , but I digress.
I’m not carrying water for them, just passing on what they told me many years ago.

The FEMA Risk Rating 2.0 is a gigantic issue but there is an even bigger insurance nightmare coming that no one is talking about which is the soon to be implemented Climate Change Ratings which will be assessed onto all homeowners policies (non-flood policies). The new Climate Change actuarial changes the insurers will be forced to push on consumers are courtesy of some ESG language.

The company assembling this is called First Street Foundation out of Brooklyn, New York.

"While flood risk grows by about 25% over a span of 30 years, wildfire risk overall is doubling and jumping more than 200% in places you might not expect, like New Jersey, Massachusetts, Florida, Louisiana, Alabama and Arkansas."

I had lighthouse and just got the same exact policy with National General for $400 cheaper a year than my lighthouse policy. Shop around bc citizens isn’t the only option apparently.

That's an oddly specific number of text messages to receive three days in a row.

I laughed at this map.

Terrebonne parish is lit up brown, but there isn’t enough trees to cause a fire. And if they do most of the trees are sitting in water.

Who the frick looks at this data?

I got the cancellation notice from FEDNAT last month. Heard all the horror stories and started calling around getting quotes.

Landed on Liberty Mutual with a very fair policy.

Dealing with this now. $1600 to $2500 with Gulf States and no more $1000 deduct across the board.
