There the guy we been talking about on the side of US61 past the Exxon plant on the North Bound lane.

I am surprised no one has hit that man out there.

One thing you cannot miss the area with all the junk in the buggies and his clothes was hanging off the road construction signs.

BATON ROUGE - A person was found dead along I-12 Monday morning after being struck by a vehicle.

The body was first discovered around 8:15 a.m. along the eastbound side of interstate near the O'Neal Lane exit ramp. The Baton Rouge Police Department said it appeared the person was struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle.

The driver who struck the bicyclist was nowhere to be found when officers arrived.

Driver fled the scene after hitting bicyclist

More than likely some uninsured a-hole.

I always find it amusing how a significant portion of the population feels secure riding around with no insurance.

Nothing to live for or protect I suppose.

Five police cars and the coroner van just arrived and there is a blue tarp over the body. There is a bicycle on the side of the exit and the body is in the grass. I couldn’t tell if the person was hit by a vehicle or not.

OT consensus = OD

You are probably on hard drugs if you bicycle on the interstate off/on ramps

Yesterday I was driving east down Jefferson Hwy and there was a homeless guy riding his bike against traffic close to the curb. I wonder how much longer he'll be alive?

40 mph is the minimum travel speed on an interstate highway.

I don't think a juiced up Lance Armstrong can achieve that type of speed on a bicycle.

Crap. You think they'll hold it for me? I can swing by and pick it up after work.

If this is as it seems, this is the second bicycle fatality at that intersection involving a homeless person in the last 12-18 months. It is not safe for these people to be living around busy intersections. Particularly if they are unstable or impaired.

Saw one just a few weeks back on the i110 South government street exit. Was coming back from the range with some friends and had just finished attempting to explain the last two or three redeeming values of living in the Garden District when wouldn’t you know it, right there under the interstate face down with no shoes on. I guess she could’ve been passed out, but it didn’t look good, baws.
