Lets say you gotta live in Baton Rouge or Slidell (2020 edition) for 5 years choose which shythole to live in and which one you think is worse then the other and your survival plan.

Oak Harbor area is really nice so I’m going Slidell. It has houses on the golf course and has river channels that lead out to the lake. Far less traffic than BR.

There are gorgeous parts of Baton Rouge, the exclusive neighborhoods of highland being one. Slidell has nothing, the entire fricking place is like a Soviet slaughter house, I would just as well pitch a tent under an overpass than to live In Slidell.

Slidell all day.
Slidell- live on water, 30 mins from NO, 3 hrs from destin, no traffic, public schools are good
Baton Rouge- live in sub, downtown sucks-1.5 hrs from no, 4.5 hrs from destin (if lucky), goodpublic schools are non existent (Baton Rouge proper) and TRAFFIC
I have lived in both and prefer Slidell

I've thought about this a lot recently. I may be looking to leave Nola in the coming years and have thought about both.
I'm leaning more towards Slidell for some of what's been said: on the water, closer to beaches, no traffic, closer to Nola when I want to come down, and I'd take St. Tammany over EBR all day long.

I would have to become Slidell trash, I’ll take lake water life and away from the clown show that BR is.

I'd rather live in BR than Slidell. I'd rather live in Mandeville/Covington and work in Slidell than BR.
