It's comedy. They write jokes and funny stories then work hard on the delivery. I hope aren't dense enough to think all of the bits that Richard Pryor, Rodney Dangerfield, Redd Foxx, etc. do are actually true stories.

One of my favorite lines from him was when he was in Rogan a few years ago and he called Eddie Bravo a deaf Jack Russell. Joe didn’t know what he meant and he said “you open the car door and you can’t get him back.” Joe was rolling.
