Theo Von and Tucker Carlson
There is some gold in there for sure.
Between this one and the Rogan/Elon podcast, yesterday was a good day for listeners.

Theo is awesome and really witty.
Respectfully some here disagree with your vested opinion about your Tee-Tee.

Theo is awesome and really witty. The shite he comes up with on the spot is wild and impressive He’s great at story telling and interviews, even if 90% of the stuff he says is fabricated. I can definitely understand how some folks aren’t a fan though. I went to a stand up show of his right before Covid and the first 15 minutes or so of his set I couldn’t stop laughing. It was one of the best 15 minutes of stand up I’ve heard and then then the rest of the stand up just fell off a cliff from there and was average if that. His early stand up is not good at all by the way so wouldn’t judge him on that.
there are certain comedians that are funnier as podcast interviewers or short videos than they are as standup.
i can listen to Tim Dillon all day with quips and over the top rantings on interviews, but his standup is mediocre.
Bert Kreischer is not funny at all with standup, but he's a hilarious storyteller.
Andrew Schultz is better at standup than either of them, but his videos are funnier than his interviews or standup.

He's funny?
Its not for everyone. Comedy is like any other form of entertainment. Not everyone is going to like everything all the time. He has an absurdist style of comedy, which is a form that I think is very funny. Millions of other people do as well. Some people don't. And that's fine.

Meh, his overexaggerated laugh trying to make a viral clip every 30 seconds makes me want to punch him in the jugular

Conversely, cocaine should be.

Theo was definitely outclassed in this interview, made him look bad. Tucker is too smart, turned into his show

The “look for escorts online” bit is 100% true if you’ve ever done coke

Tucker and Theo Von is a combo I never thought I'd see.

Theo Vonns standup is terrible but he’s funny in ad lib conversations. Pretty damn witty.
That how I take him as well. Would much rather hang out w him playing cards or golf than watching him in an auditorium. Night and day.

Hes different. He takes you places that you couldnt possibly have thought up on your own because they are so ridiculous. Then when he suckers you into that box he kepts his schtick up. If you never figure him out he will play it out to the end.
Bill Burr busted his balls once.

He’s a lot better in podcast platform vs standup comedy
And that can be said about many comedians turned podcasters and it annoys me. Quite a few of them couldn't book the rooms they do as headlining standup comedians without their podcast popularity. Their comedy didn't miraculously get better, but they will draw a crowd anyway, so they get the headlining spots. Nevermind that they usually always have better comedians opening for them. I saw Gareth Reynolds once when he didn't have an opener. The MC of the club did 20 minutes and got more laughs, but Reynolds headlined a "Special Engagement" show.

That's what was so interesting about Norm MacDonald Live, his old YouTube show. There would be successful comedic actors or performers who couldn't hold a conversation without a script. Then there would be people I didn't expect to be funny, who just rolled with it hilariously.

Norm MacDonald Live
Incredibly underrated show/project. It should have been picked up by a legit network. Instead, we got the clusterfrick of whatever Netflix did to it.
