The countless number of hobos, the crime, the terrible smell of the French quarter, the traffic, the risk of hurricanes, the roads, the liberals/free spirit people.... despite all that I still love that city

New orleans is the worst thing about new orleans. Literally everything. A close number two is the people who think New Orleans is god's gift to the world

This just isn't true, especially before recent repairs around lakeview

No the worst thing is easily the lower ninth ward. If that whole area was fenced in a lot of problems would be solved.

New Orleans, while having its faults, is one of the most unique and special cities in the US. This country is better as a whole for having a place like New Orleans. Sorry you don't know how to have fun.

The folks out in the East cause more problems than the people from the lower 9th. New Orleans would be soooo much better if the East sank into the Gulf.

It's definitely the roads. I think Leake Ave is sinking

Smell of the French Quarter on a hot Sunday morning.......... Piss, puke and cooking grease.
Smells like a dumpster enclosure behind a Taco Cabana. It's like a fog though. The heat of the day cooks it back down quickly.
Only one cure for that smell is to get inside a good breakfast place FAST.
OR stay in bed until it calms down on its own.
I miss NOLA
You guys got $500 of mine coming your way soon.

Some of the people
More than some. Here's a few of the things I've heard out of the mouths of locals:
-"you're not Cajun unless you're from Nawlins"
-(at Jazz Fest...asking another group to move and find another spot to sit) "were locals and we should be able to sit wherever we want"
-"Louisiana doesn't exist without NOLA."
-"you have to be ignorant to live outside of NOLA"

These days, there aren't enough people living there to really make it bad. It's not great, mind you, but it's not the most dangerous place anymore. And really, everything between St Claude and the River is gentrifying at a fast pace.

They are all sinking...

Water has been gushing up from under a sewer cover for a month now by my house on Orleans. When cars roll over it, the downwards pressure shoots water into the air like a geyser.

The synchronized lights downtown
When they work, it's great. But sometimes they get out of alignment and until they all get reset, they can cause problems.
