Still a hefty chunk of free cash for a weekend of work.

Drive all three nights from five to three, total of thirty hours. I'd think with the apparent demand you should get two pickups per hour, minimum. That's sixty pickups at five bucks a pop.

Receive $450.00 hourly pay. $150.00 in five-hour bonuses. $5.00 x 60 = $300 pickup bonuses.

That's $600 just for showing up part time, $900 if you're picking up twenty a night. And that doesn't include fare money.

So you could work from 5pm Friday night till 3am Saturday, then 5pm Saturday till 3am Sunday and make 200 bucks just in the $50 bonuses?

I was thinking they just offered the fifty once per day from his post, three times total for the weekend. I wonder if the five hour blocks roll over from day to day?

I do when I ask for a stop at the liquor store for a late night cap or for a stop for some food. I do the same for taxis, if a guy is nice enough to detour from point a to point b why not be gratuitous.

That's your prerogative, but not how Uber is designed. The first time I used it in DC the driver declined a five spot as I did not know the custom. I don't think they're supposed to take tips.

You're hiring the driver and his car for as long as you want. He is profiting from your trip to the store so there is no need to feel he need to compensate him further. He does not live on tips like a cabbie. He is doing his job and is receiving the vast majority of the money you are paying for the car hire.

I am with you, I have been declined a few times especially in DC. When the driver says no when I get out the car I just leave it on the console.

Unless Dickjones is "bigred" I no longer have any yellow cab driver's cell. Im sure YC would love to know about how many of their drivers were giving out private cell phone numbers, picking up drivers and not running the meter. A few years ago $20 would get many anywhere in the city. The digiulio's book is now useless.

How did you know. And yes YC knows they encourage it. It helps get people picked up faster.

As far as working smaller areas we do city is divided into about 18 zones. Lsu is one. Ben hur tiger land Burbank is one. Downtown is split into two zones Florida blvd being the line. South Downs is it's own zone.

Back to the pizza deal that was one customer. Imagine that happening at least 30x a night. How can we fix that. Please tell me. Just by being able to track someone does not fix customer finding a free ride over one he has to pay for. You have all clearly stated cheaper is better and that's how you wanna roll. I always hear the it's hard to get a cab in this town. Never hear the part they were trying to get one at peak hours. How many drivers do you think it would take uber and YC combined to get every one at 2am. That's the thing you all seem not to be able to process. Even if uber has 20 drivers working this weekend you will still have to wait for extended periods of time. It's evident that 99% read a post, take a excerpt from it make it look out of context. Then you bash whoever is making that post. When I made the OP within 30 sec it has 21 replies. Now that was a long one sorry but if you clicked and watched the link in it that vid is 4 min long. Yes I just went back to OP. It shows that no thought are comprehension was taken on it. Oh here another fact so I'm not making it up as you all claim. Time stamp 2:43 OP made. 2:44 the replies started. Please tell me how you read entire post, watched video, clicked to respond, typed in response, then submitted in under a minute.

At this point, if you really drive for yellow cab, your boss needs to see this thread and put a goddamn muzzle on you IRL. You've done more harm than good for your side.

But thank you for the great advertisement you've been giving for über with this thread anyway.

You seem to know the inner workings of yellow cab so I doubt you're just trollng

Having said that you also seem to know a lot about ubers pay scale and some of their policies, other shite you just seem to make up or stretch facts to make them look like an evil empire...my conclusion, you applied to be an Uber driver, went through their background screening process, studied up on them while you were waiting to get cleared, they denied you and now you're on here trying to smear their name.

He already fired me for breaking the rules. You know when y'all wanna sneak that 5th person in the cab. Yea that got me fired but no one cared. Ask the guy who figured out I was big red. Haven't been at YC for a bit now.

Further proof y'all have no clue what y'all are doing. Why is an area as small as Downtown BR split into two coverage zones? And WTF is Southdowns doing with their own zone?

Some of this is true. Yes I do know a lot about uber been researching them for about 5 months now. No I haven't applied and won't because of their polices. If uber stays give it 6 months and you will start to hear the hell uber drivers and customers go through. I've put many links up to show some research on uber. But like I said someone reads one sentence doesn't like it then stops. They pull that one sentence and twist it around. They start acting like a bunch of savages and animals.
