Well why don’t you tell me what the net job creation is when brick and mortar stores start closing because everything is same day delivery from Amazon.

Calm down bro. Just asking the question

No one is fixing those robots. That’s like fixing a flat screen TV. Do you see a lot of TV repairmen around?

No, because it’s cheaper to buy a new next generation TV/robot from the Chinese manufacturing plant than to repair the cheap Chinese made robot.

That's a poor argument

When technology or progress makes jobs obsolete it's time for those jobs to no longer exist because they don't provide economic value

Yes, they are. They're like $15k per robot, depending on the need

I’m not arguing against technology.

I’m simply saying that I think most people just read the news headlines and say “great! Amazon is investing in Louisiana. We must be doing something right”

Reality is this is happening in every state as part of Amazon’s expansion to take over the market. They are flush with pandemic cash

Amazon has like 1.3 million employees worldwide, almost 600,000 in the US alone

I think it’s better to have a robot filled distribution center than what was going to eventually happen at the Cortana Mall

we currently have 25 Universal Robots in our warehouse, worth over $500,000...they're not just going to be 'replaced with a new one' anytime soon

That's part of the problem, none of those "robots" will be repaired on site. Typically they are sent back to the manufacturer and exchanged for a working unit.

Now that’s actually a good point. Hopefully strategic placement can revitalize some areas.

Yes, and they are typically sent to a repair facility in the US, not overseas

This.

And they are still hiring 2000+ in Baton Rouge not counting truck drivers and delivery drivers.
