im sure it was the normal routine gross nasty kitchen you find in any restaurant you go into, but the show brings in the moldy trays and dead rats just for TV

I don’t know, that kitchen looked like it hadn’t been clean since the Grandpa sold it. These little hipsters don’t know shite about management.

Would you eat a plate of cheesy nachos from a restaurant with mold on it?

We pick all of the mold out of your nachos before we serve them to you, Sir. We are not barbarians here at Trolley Stop, thank you, please visit again.

The Trolley Stop is not bad. If they really wanted to walk into a shithole to turn around, they would have gone a few blocks down to the St. Charles Tavern. Last time I went there one of the main dudes working there started trying to stomp on a roach while we were eating (not quietly either).

THANK YOU, SIR!

Here at Trolley Stop, we have solved the problem that many other restaurants have with roaches. Turns out that Rats love to eat roaches and roach eggs, so, our Rats keep the roach population under control.

Why would any restaurant sign up for this? “All publicity is good publicity” doesn’t seem like it would apply to restaurants.

because they get s fully remodeled restaurant plus all new computer systems to run it.

$50-$60 free upgrades to the business is why they do it, plus the added publicity brings in a lot of new business and often brings back many old customers who left because it hasd lost its apeal

It’s Trolley Stop at 230 I don’t care what goes into making my pancakes or late night breakfast. I have no idea why anyone would go there sober but it is what it is. Stick to the breakfast and burgers.

I live in Seattle, stopped by a place called Yanni's a couple months ago to get a gyro to go. I sat at the bar while I waited for the food and googled the restaurant while I was killing time to find out that they were on Kitchen Nightmares a couple years ago. I talk to the bartender (also co-owner) about it and they said their business blew up after it aired. 2 hour waits, tons of good press. Kind of counter-intuitive, but yeah.

Coincidentally, a friend of mine from high school manages The Trolley Shop -- he said it's largely exaggerated and Gordon Ramsey is actually a super nice guy when the camera isn't rolling. The producers manufacture the scenarios he is so outraged about.

There are a lot of great chefs. There are a lot of great restauranteurs. And there are a lot of great TV personalities.

There are very very few that have two of those qualities.

Gordon is one of the only ones that has all three.

He knows exactly what and to whom he’s selling. His British show makes him look much more subdued because he’s playing to a totally different audience. The man knows his shite.

They should have fired the staff after they couldn't figure out how to fry chicken.

I went there a few times with coworkers when I first moved to New Orleans. The worst coffee I’ve ever had in my life.

My brother and his GF went to Oceana when they taped there a few yrs ago. Not only staged, but prompted by producers for reactions to things placed there by producers.
