We were sending “air advisors” over for 7 years or so prior to the botched pullout. Trained them on how to fly and maintain an Air Force. I’m sure some left, but not all of them. I have some friends that did air advisor tours and they talked about how their students had taliban relatives and friends.

Maybe the Taliban got the idea from what was the USSR after almost 10 years of occupation. I’m surprised they found someone to fly those helicopters (I’m no expert but they don’t look like ours) either way, this parade wasn’t a surprise.

While it's bullshite that we left all of our gear there, the only countries that they can invade are Iran, Pakistan, China, or the other 'Stans. I don't care if that whole region implodes so long as we're not involved.
