In theory it looks awesome, but it is probably a bitch to keep up with and would likely turn to shite in no time.

If the designer is smart, he offers maintenance contracts as well. No different than the hippy white guy that throws chemicals in your pool and shits in your backyard.

I wouldn't let this guy handle any of my cash if he doesn't know that 180 degrees is only half of the sides.

Have you ever been to the beach?

Plus, sand is relatively inexpensive. A truckload of new sand every year is like $200.

That wouldn't last 1 good storm before washing out the sand. Plus cats are going to shite in it. This is the South so, hello fire-ants! The water will turn muddy and nasty since everything in the yard can wash right into it. No thank you.

The natural reaction (as you can see by the replies) is that this would never work. That's usually the reaction from unorthodox things though, but if it's done right I don't see why it couldn't work.

Pools turn to shite if not maintained also. I don't see why this is different. Plus at 1/5th the cost, that leaves alot of extra money for maintenance if it needs a significant more than a pool.

Lol. No thanks. I have a difficult enough time keeping up with my 8'x6' goldfish pond, never mind something that I'd actually want to swim in myself.

where are the filters and pump?

There's water spraying out of the umbrellas in the center, I'm guessing the pump equipment is just out of the frame of the picture and piping is run underground.
