But in all seriousness, I just need to know if I can take my 13 year old kid who is unvaccinated (but had CoVID and recovered) to New Orleans and still able to check into a hotel, eat at restaurants, and allow to play in her volleyball at the convention center.
I don't see even the strictest of places caring about a 13 year old. I don't eat at many of the SJW restaurants downtown/WHD/Marigny/Bywater, but in the parts of the city that I do frequent (Mid City and Lakeview mostly) I have been yet to be asked for a vax card and I haven't worn a mask in anywhere in months

I mean just say your kid is 12. Not like she has ID to confirm one way or another.

completely agree, CoVID should not be an issue anymore unless you have pre-existing medical conditions or >60 years old… that what the vaccines are for. I have no problems with mask wearing.

I just heard that 95% of Covid deaths in the US had 4 co-morbidities.

Do a little research on places outside Orleans Parish. Despite what nolier than thou ignoramuses will tell you, there are plenty of good restaurants in surrounding parishes. They are where all the people with actual New Orleans roots and culture live now.

You’re ok with masks?

NO MORE MASKS.

FOLLOW THE EFFIN SCIENCE.

What we are doing to kid’s social and emotional development is criminal. Not to mention what it’s doing to normal human interactions.

But now even the hipstery places DGAF.

Man, this is very false.

I haven't been out that much but they are 100% asking for it at many places.

Drago's in the Hilton asked me for vax card just to order a drink in the bar. It's kind of funny, because I walked all around the entire hotel and conference room area for 2 days without a mask

but my 13 year old had CoVID and has not been vaccinated because natural immunity. According to the guidelines, the rules applied to anyone over 12 years old (which is stupid).
Are they going to ask for a birth certificate? How can they visually tell the difference between a 12 year old and a 13 year old?

Only place I’ve heard of doing this is Harrahs. They match your vax card to your ID and make you look at a camera for a picture

Which “hipstery places” DGAF? Last I checked most of those types are the ones loudly celebrate the fact that they are checking. I know for sure a lot of the old school restaurants are too. Commanders is.

I have been places in NOLA that didn't even ask, and I've been to some that did. Most of the ones that did ask did not really look at what I showed them. One place scrutinized it.

Went to a wedding at Ralph's on the Park last weekend. Had to show proof of vaccination card yet the hostess was unmasked. I flashed a picture of my gf's card just to see and she didn't even notice. I'm fully vaccinated and this shite is ridiculous.

Generally, it sounds like you know the current rules. We will see what’s in the pipeline months from now.

Smoothie King center makes you half arse show any card basically to get in. Then it's masks off. Like God intended it to be.

Yeah, have to wear a mask to bring my kid into daycare.

She get sick with a fever she has to have a negative covid test to return.

Virtually every restaurant and grocery store still has a fair amount of workers wearing masks. Mant not.

All in Prairieville.

Bayou Beer/Wine Garden matches vaccine card to picture and stamps your hand.

I've been carded + ID’ed at several Frenchmen St bars, the Prytania in the FQ, and Shake Shack. And these are some of the only places I've set foot in besides the grocery store. They are definitely carding. It does seem like mask enforcement has slacked somewhat.
