i agree but this will never happen so if they made that light turn red and left the light turning west on to 10 green 15 seconds longer the road would be clear.

they are just "claiming the intersection"

I would be great if Baton Rouge had service roads and on ramps/off ramps with u-turns and left turn lanes like texas has.

These are the same dicks who get out up under a green light in the middle of an intersection to turn left, let it turn red and then decide it's all cool to go.

We build the best here in Louisiana.

...and toll funded freeway loops to bypass heavy traffic downtown areas on the interstate like Texas has

Oh I know. It's the no fricks given attitude that really grinds my gears. Cops could literally sit at the corner and hand out pre-written tickets. A year's revenue from that would probably pay for an interstate loop around the city.

If you look closely, the google earth image of the intersection is even gridlocked

This. Cops would be cheered if they ticketed people blocking intersections.

Sounds like the light timing for the on ramp is off. Probably hasn't been changed in 20 years.

That's different, and acceptable.
Assuming that traffic isn't backed up so far that they are stranded in the intersection.

Pecue Interchange will help this believe it or not. That's finally being built.

Not that it happens often but dont you hate it when you are that guy because you didnt realize the traffic in front of you was about to come to an abrupt halt.

ATL has signs at every intersection telling you not to block the intersection. Unless it's up a hill, you can always tell when you are going to be the one blocking everyone else.

i'd say like 98% of the time. Not always.

I hate when I stop to avoid blocking an intersection (while the light is still green) and cars start turning right on red as if I'm just letting all these people go out of kindness.

probably need to sync the lights better. Siegen lane sucks.
One answer. Cell phones talking and/texting is the reason traffic has gotten so bad. There is no way the lights can be synchronized for stupid drivers.
