The scariest drawings on the library shelf as a kid...

How many of you turned this book around on your bookshelf when you were a kid?
Specifically this one
Look at the musical notes, and then look at the drawing of the hearse. Anyone else see what I see? Or am I just going crazy.
Never saw it as a kid but I pulled it down the other day and looked at it and couldn’t believe my eyes. I wonder what else I might have missed.
Man, these illustrations still give me the heebie-Jeebies as a grown man.
And did y’all see how they tried to neuter the illustrations in the new edition?
The illustrations were the best part and they tried to steal that from kids.
Read your kids the old books and give them real nightmares.

I vividly remember the book, but I only remember enjoying it, not it creeping me out. Probably just because it was different than all the typical books. I remember some creepy staircase, I believe, in there that for some reason sticks out in my memory.

I always liked those illustrations.
These commercials always freaked me out.
