I wish when Canes bought the naming rights, Todd Graves would’ve called it the Raising Canes Centroplex.

Saw Rush there in 1980. Seemed ok to me, but I was 13 at the time

Back in the day, there were 3-4 concerts per week. There was other stuff tht lasted 4-6 days, like Ice Capades, and Sesame St. Live. It was a major venue.

Kip did so much for Baton Rouge, especially for businesses.. Like the Country Fest thing. Memorial Day Weekend was the slowest weekend for Baton Rouge hotels because people left but no one comes to BR for memorial day. He gets the country fest thing going and all of a sudden hotels are packed.

Downtown was steadily growing. He brought people down there with events like live after 5. He trusted his police chief and let him run things the way he wanted and while there is always going to be crime, they at least kept it in certain areas. Man frick SWB
