The River Center is the worst designed arena that I’ve ever been to.

Random vent, I know; but every time I’ve gone to an event there, there’s always been one, maybe two doors open for everybody to go through which makes for massive lines, the concourses are too small for a not even sold out crowd, and long lines at every concessions stand and beer/liquor stand. The only positive I can say about it is that (as of the last time I was there,) tGOAT Cam Brown’s #44 was still hanging from the rafters. Renovations have done nothing to alleviate these problems; they were basically putting lipstick on a pig.

As much as people on tRant want to tear down the PMAC and build a new one, it’s perfect for what it is. A couple of renovations wouldn’t hurt, but it’s a good college basketball/gymnastics arena. If you tear down the River Center and build a new one in it’s place, you could attract some bigger acts than Bow Wow and Puddle of Mudd, and maybe bring some business into downtown BR.

God bless, and bring back the Kingfish. /rant

You're not wrong.

Also the AC can't keep up for large crowds in hotter months.

If re-designed correctly, could be an awesome concert venue and a great place to host State Championships for basketball and wrestling

Are there any events even happening in that place anymore? The last event I remember hearing about coming to BR was the Ms America pageant amd that was before Trump was President.

Im sure something has come to town, but what?

Since Kipp left, Downtown BR has crashed.

Kipp had the Bowlers every year, the Black Mayors, etc.

Its pretty bad. They should really blow it up and build a new one from the ground up.

Well, I did forget about that but that was still over 4 years ago.

We had tickets to go see the Globetrotters there in early 2020 but it was canceled due to Covid. I forgot about that too.

The production of "The Nutcracker" every Christmas season was a pretty big attraction, for what that place is.

The Nutcracker is in the Theater not the arena. The theater is undergoing major renovations now and it was nice but will really be nice.
