If you are doing the math on having kids and planning for private school, travel ball, yearly vacations to Disney, and paying for their college and grad school... Then yes, that would be quite a shocking and intimidating cost. But you don't have to keep up with the Joneses.
What, do you want me to live like I'm in communist Russia? We aren't canceling the yearly trip to Disney you unamerican traitor! /end sarcasm
Seriously this dude gets it. So many people spend their paychecks on unnecessary things and activities and could lead just as enriching lives for a fraction of the cost.

How big is your home? A generation ago a 1500sqft home was BIG for an average family. 1100-1300 was more standard
My first house was 1280 sq ft and 98k out in the sticks

I never wanted kids and now I have 9 grandkids!! Point is you never know what the future may bring for you. But today, all I can tell you is to find a conservative girl- feminists & progressive women make lousy partners! I was lucky to find a beautiful, younger Conservative Mexican wife!

I would have never married a liberal. That would have been a definite deal breaker.

That may work well for you as a family but has consequences on a culture and nation.
Then the older generation shouldn't have saddled us with student loan debt, high cost of housing, and a poor economy.

There's 8 billion people on earth. I think the human race is fine if a few folks don't reproduce.

My college was free
Thanks patrick taylor
Housing isn't that expensive, unless you're trying to live in river ranch. The economy is pretty good. Are you trolling me?

No problem with this. I only have one and won't be having any more.

Hope Sharkeitha warms your heart and remembers to turn you every 4 hours when you're lingering alone in a nursing home at Christmas time long after the world has forgotten about you
Meanwhile I'll be surrounded by great grandchildren telling them about the meme war and how we retook the holy land

Government meddling in the free market essentially caused all 3 of these

millennials also have a much higher standard of living than previous generations. Bigger houses, more cars, etc.
Objectively false.

I cant even inagine how broke I would be with a kid. Id have to take some job nobody else wants just to get by. Hard pass for me at this juncture.
Oh, and I'm terribly selfish and immature. Having a kid would probably make a "better" person, but I'm not willing to risk becoming my shitty parents 2.0

According to some on the OT, you’re mentally defective if you don’t want kids. Must be a lot of mentally defective peeps in Europe.

The real reason is that most women now are crazy and Prince Charming doesn’t rescue c*unty lunatics

You may very well be waited on by Skarkeitha, as your kids didn't bother to bring your old arse to Vail with them for Christmas. Meanwhile, I can be living stress free with my wife doing anything we want as we live out our final days comfortably. See how easy it is to flip your scenario?
But no, I will demand anyone with a half-decent job to become the new studs for America
