We have a son, but we're not having any more. We want to give him the best life possible. We were both only children as well and we didn't mind.
We're either going to have one more or adopt one more, and that will probably be it. I come from a large family and would love to have more, but quality of life is important to us and I would rather not jeopardize that by selfishly and irresponsibly having more.

Been waiting on some Boomer tard to say “yea, cause muh millennials”
Actually, it’s become a fiscal decision of necessity rather than comfort. It’s hard to support children when you’re making 30k as an ‘account executive’ and paying back 50k in student loans because of interest. Many millennials simply don’t have the option to start a family.

The cost of everything is outrageous now days.
I completely get not wanting kids. Unless you have the means to support them, it’s gonna be a struggle for you if you have a child.
My brother has zero desire to have kids while i have 3. I told him he is very smart.
He can go and do whatever he wants to without any reservations

millennials also have a much higher standard of living than previous generations. Bigger houses, more cars, etc.
True, but millennials who are homeowners (lower than previous generations) are usually buying the moderate to smaller size homes (I am in that category), and most with multiple vehicles do so out of necessity as both are usually working instead of the wife staying home.

I'm not jealous of my younger brother (who is single/unmarried and only 3 years younger than I am). Actually he says he wants what I have, but i always caution him to be very careful/committed before he even thinks about taking that step with someone. It's not a cheap decision to be taken lightly, and I wish more folks would consider not having kids if they truly don't have the means or desire to do so.

I actually think that the economy and wages are about to improve quite a bit. Like him or hate him, the Trump corporate tax cut is pretty bullish for the economy

Will be an absolute boon for most families.

I'm a millenial and I will say that the reason a lot of millenials don't have kids is because most of the dudes are low t cucks and most of the women are selfish feminists
Our grandparents didn't have shite and most of our parents turned out fine
I'm ready to get married and get it over with but all the women I meet are tied up with "their career" or "applying to pa school" and all the ones that seem like they'd be alright with staying at home and raising kids have kids already

My wife stays at home and we couldn't get by without two vehicles. Not many could. I work 45 minutes from my home and my wife has my son involved in a ton of activities during the day, plus she has a ton of errands to run.
I don't think that any SAHM would be ok with not having a car during the day.

Kids are expensive. I'm 29 and won't be starting a family until my mid to late 30s because of student loans, housing costs, and how expensive it is to raise kids.

What's funny is the same people who will roll their eyes at millenials' complaints about the ridiculously high cost of education will then turn around and give them shite for deciding not to make another huge financial investment in having children.
There’s really nothing wrong with having fewer kids. The problem is, the people who desperately need to stop breeding won’t stop. That old song with the “only stupid people are breeding” line is sorta true except it’s “only poor people are breeding”.

We have three kids, but I doubt it's much more expensive than not having kids. The kids go to public school in Texas and each have an activity or two - but nothing extravagant like travel ball, etc. People I know with no kids are often traveling and doing expensive stuff.
Sure, the kids will be more expensive when they are driving teenagers, but my career will also be further along too. And college is on them - scholarships, jobs, and loans. But certainly I will help out within reason based on where we are financially at that point in life.
If you are doing the math on having kids and planning for private school, travel ball, yearly vacations to Disney, and paying for their college and grad school... Then yes, that would be quite a shocking and intimidating cost. But you don't have to keep up with the Joneses.

Of all the bitching and moaning about excess people in the world, folks are mad at those smart enough to recognize they don't want kids, and properly ensure they don't have one.
Comedy.

People that don’t want kids shouldn’t have them and most people that do want them probably shouldn’t have them either. It’s not really complicated.

I guess slavery will make a comeback.

The "excess people" are the gross ones in third world countries like China and Africa. We got plenty room in America for more kids granted they're born to parents that are citizens and work

How big is your home? A generation ago a 1500sqft home was BIG for an average family. 1100-1300 was more standard.
