There is no winning by ignoring it.

There is no "winning" period. Either we go about our business, let the virus do its thing, accept the losses and let our immune systems check it, or we shut down until everyone is slowly infected or a vaccine becomes available, which will cause losses on all kinds of fronts.

No magical cure here. Losses are inevitable.

Is there some belief in the medical community now that if you lock down “well enough” that the virus will simply disappear? Because I don’t see any possible way to avoid the case numbers increasing when coming out of a lock down no matter how many times you do it or how stringently. The message seems to be “do it better this time.”

You can, but it has to be a full on everyone stays inside for two whole weeks or they eat hot lead, and then after that a few people who have zero symptoms and have tested negative then come out and slowly test everyone else, making sure that everyone who is positive stays inside.

There is no feasible way of doing that.

I don’t know, seems like an impossible goal to me.

Once all the tax dollars started getting thrown at this it went from a problem to be solved to a situation to be taken advantage of.

And as I've said from jump street, the yellow route was the correct route to take.

We already know you're in the ignore it group.

I'm in the open it up but be responsible group. The responsible group is really small in many places.

Get cases down so politicians will quit freaking out and locking shite down and when lockdowns end , act with a little common sense and be inconvenienced until there are better treatments or a vaccine , therefore saving people’s jobs

Truer words have never been spoken. And I’m not just referring to coronavirus, this is just in general.
let's not stereotype everyone or even most of America. Plenty of America can take personal responsibility and chew gum at the same time.

Living in Malaysia I have been able to compare the US and how another country handled this pandemic. Malaysia was no earlier than the US closing down but the general population was much better about following government guidelines. Malaysia ranks in the top 5 countries of the world how successfully they have been able to combat this virus. The result is although there are still some limitations (bars, theatres still closed) the country is practically back to normal. Just this week there were two days without any new COVID cases.

I don't agree with him on everything.
However, he's right on this.

Exercise and decent/good nutrition, as well as addressing any underlying conditions is a huge deal.

It's no coincidence the demographic that is in shitty overall health is disproportionately affected.
