Being told the parade has been postponed, and the krewes are meeting with the city Monday to reschedule.

That sucks for all the people who ride, walk, etc as well as the bar owners.
And now the Old Metairie parade on Sunday is going to be a giant clusterfrick with the crowds. It usually is anyway and then they added the krewe of Argus to the parade this year.

The main tuxedo store sent out a message that they will hold measurements until 3/28-3/29 if that date gets confirmed

Unfortunate.. can't make that weekend. $1000 well spent

I hope it’s rescheduled. I have zero confidence it city “leaders.”

Hope the riders aren’t stuck with loads of produce.

Theyre still doing the all-day block party so that pretty much confirms that NOPD said no

Any of you going to the block party? I plan on going into the office for a few hours in the morning, then dabbling in some bourbon consumption.

I'm being told speculation that the liberal city factions are buttburt about the Irish Channel association's logo including the phrase "America First."

After postponing on account of bad weather, the Irish channel St. Patrick’s Day Parade will now officially roll on a different date.

The parade will roll on Saturday, March 29 at 10 a.m. along its normal route.

Organizers say it took a lot of work to land on this date due to the amount of city resources required.

March 29 is also election day.

Just need to get the bars to open around 7:00 am.

Many of us have to parlay the parade into school fairs.

Mercy is for the weak.

At least, as I've just been told. Parade cancelled for 2025.

2025 Irish Channel St. Patrick’s Day Parade Canceled Due to Weather Concerns
New Orleans, LA – [March 27, 2025] – It is with deep regret that the Irish Channel St. Patrick’s Day Club announces the cancellation of the 2025 Irish Channel St. Patrick’s Day Parade, originally rescheduled for Saturday, March 29.
After closely monitoring weather forecasts indicating a high risk of lightning between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM, the Club has made the difficult decision to cancel the event in the interest of public safety. The wellbeing of our participants, volunteers, first responders, and the tens of thousands of expected spectators remains our highest priority.
“This is a disappointing outcome, especially after the long and complex process of rescheduling this year’s parade,” said Dickie Burke, President of the Irish Channel St. Patrick’s Day Club. “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported the effort and helped us get this far.”
The Club acknowledges the tremendous coordination that went into gaining the necessary approvals and handling logistics for the rescheduled date. Although the parade will not roll this year, we are proud of the teamwork and determination that brought us to the finish line.
We also wish to congratulate and recognize our 2025 parade honorees: Grand Marshal Raymond “Randy” King Jr., Man of the Year James E. “Jimmy” Kuhn, Queen Bree Rafferty, and her court.
For sponsors and donors, please contact irishchannelparade@gmail.com to discuss next steps or opportunities to redirect contributions to future events or charitable efforts supported by the Club.
We thank the entire New Orleans community for its continued support and understanding. We look forward to returning in 2026 with renewed energy and the same Irish Channel spirit that’s kept this tradition alive for nearly 80 years.
