Nothing confirmed and a few people denying it now. Same page tha originally posted it also said the Mississippi was flowing backwards through NOLA. I haven’t seen that either

Yes it was manned. It’s just floating
Tug company has already been hired to retrieve but will take a day or 2

There is no way that it was still 'manned'. I don't know shite about oil platforms but there is no way they allowed someone to stay on that thing for this storm.

WoW! I’ve fished there many times and it’s a monster structure. It has huge chains anchoring it in place right? Also what happens to the production pipe that is attached to it?

That is something that is likely to happen as well.

This is purely rumor despite a bullcrap facebook post

Wait for shell to comment. The mars engineers themselves have said nobody will know anything until they can get helicopters out.

There was nobody riding it out on any shell platform.

I agree and I asked the same question but I was told that people are board. That may be false but I do know that the platform itself has broken loose

I’m calling it a rumor for now.

The screenshot that is floating around is calling it Mars / Olympus which is two different TLP’s.

Well when the sea gets higher than the river it would flow backwards.

100% lost all credibility.

It was shut-in and unmanned. This would apply to Mars and Mars B/Olympus.

They probably had communications online via generators or battery back up. They know if it broke loose or not and where it is.

And the crew was supposed to have been evacuated by Friday

I’d also wonder if Olympus got free how’d Mars A or Ursa do, as they’re all within a few miles, and Olympus is the newest one (only around 5 years old).

Okay. I’m telling you. I know the tug company that was called out to retrieve it when seas calm down.

As far as they know there are people on board. Maybe there isn’t.

Agreed. There is no way Shell left personnel.

I was about to ask that to the oilfield baws, do they leave a skeleton crew on those super rigs? all rigs? it would make sense and they have those enclosed escape capsules, just wondered about that, some serious hazard duty premium if so I would think
