It's one thing to casually follow a team or even do a draft with your coworkers or old college buddies, but people who obssess over fantasy football take it to another level, and are likely using it as a coping mechanism to distract from their inability to slay. Very sad to witness really.

I joined a league with co workers four years ago. I Only lasted two weeks. It changes the way you watch the game and not in a good way. No thanks

exactly

putting together an e-team of alpha professional athletes and then watching their every move is quite the beta activity

I don't see how it's any more beta than being a fan in general

It's not an obsession for me. Just something to do with some friends and family.

Caring what other people do in their spare time is, in fact, quite beta as well.

I love fantasy but for whatever reason it drives me crazy when I'm at a sports bar watching football and somebody in the vicinity is talking about their team or obnoxiously cheering when one of their players that is on tv at that time gets a 2 yard catch

I played from 1998-2008. Then it just got boring. It definitely freed up my Sundays since. Not watching every score coming in or having to put in your lineup every week, add/drops, etc. Became to much of a chore.

I passed on playing this year. Of course I caught hell from both leagues I was in but I don't care. I still went the the drafts and drank beer and even played Vana White by writing the picks on the board. But I have just lost interest. I shuffle people and numbers around for my job all week , the last thing I feel like doing in my spare time is managing a bunch of rich thug football players that I have no control over. No thanks I'll just watch. Lol
