Western New York and Central Pennsylvania are great though. Blue collar, mountainous, and nothing like the elitist Northeasterners along the coast. I spent some time in a few small towns an hour south of Rochester (Dansville, Avoca, Watkins Glen) and honestly wanted to move there.

It’s beautiful here. I prefer Western NY and Central PA. Pittsburgh is amazing with its surrounding areas.

ETA: women here are in general, unattractive.
True. But I must admit, even the LSU ladies aren’t what they used to be.
Obesity has ruined the womenz. Glad I married young. Snagged a keeper and knocked her up before she realized she could have done better.

New Hampshire is really nice too.
I don't like Vermont. The people there ruin it. Maine and New Hampshire is baw country though once you step outside the city.
I think New Hampshire will be fine in the long run. Maine, however, has permanently fricked itself with its liberal voting habits. They adopted some weird popularity system in voting for governor that ensures they will never have a conservative governor again.

I don’t see nearly as many Confederate flags in the South as I do pride flags in the north.
I was out in the Midwest recently and I saw more Confederate flags in Iowa than I ever see down South these days.

Boston: I feel like this sums up what I think of NE. It’s pretty. It’s a nice big city. Fenway is an incredible visit for a baseball fan. That said, pride flags and BLM signs are out in full force.
Was in Boson, NY and DC last week and I noticed that about Boston. No blacks and no openly gays, but BLM and Pride stuff errywhere.

at least half of the tropes this board uses about the north are equally applicable to the south

When I read
I thought "you should walk thru Somerv...."
Nevermind
Take a stroll from Inman to Central Sq and count the number of leftist political signs banners and flags in windows. Its slightly less prevalent west of Mass Ave, west of Davis up towards Alewife. But overall, yeah it's pretty much how you picture it. Go run around Tufts and soak that in.

A Texas flag simply identifies where one is from. What’s wrong with that? I don’t see nearly as many Confederate flags in the South as I do pride flags in the north.

That’s what you get for venturing away from 30A. Are you scared of rip currents or something?

Drive on the state highways in Upstate New York and you'll see just as many Rebel flags as you do in the South. I'm not kidding.

The south is great except for 2 things. The heat and the other thing.

Not sure why this board tends to bash places for no reason. Especially places that are unique and offer a ton of outdoor experiences.
You gonna make me quote skynard ?

I don’t necessarily disagree but you were in 2 of the shittiest cities in the northeast.
That’s like saying, “I went to New Orleans, Jackson, and Memphis and the south is just like you’d expect”

I live in the Northeast and I can say hands down my town is the best place I have ever lived. It’s all a matter of comparison.
