They allow it
So they shouldn't allow a business to impose a penalty (of which there are posted warnings) when you decide to not pay for enough time, right? Maybe they should just let you leave your car there for days with no consequence.
You should join up with those snowflakes wanting everything else for free.

All of this.

And if you're able, don't patronize Mitch Landrieu's city since he allows this to go on
So, you didn't pay for enough time and now you're blaming the mayor for a boot?

Also Premium has parking lots all over the country. This isn't just a New Orleans issue.

Not to mention the willingness to penalize hundreds of others who depend on tourist dollars...
(I know it is really thousands but this cheap bastard is not spending any appreciable amount.)

How is it you "thought" you purchased enough time? What does that mean?
I read further, I still don't get it. You knew when your parking was up, you should have said something to the judge.

You know you can get the Premium Parking app and add more time without even having to go back to the lot. There's no excuse for running out of time.

Your story just sounds like a private company doing their business.
On the other hand, the real boot racket is that damn van that rolls around booting people for camera tickets. frick those people, and frick those cameras.

One of the few things in New Orleans that gets done on time is the worker showing up to remove the boot in the alloted time period in order to collect the full penalty.

I got a notice in the mail I was speeding on Canal St. about six years ago now. Only been back twice since instead of the six or so times a year my family and I would go down there. When they waived all the city worker's "tickets" to the tune of millions, but didn't for Joe Q. Public, I swore that fricking city off. There are much better places for getaway weekends than that cesspool.

I'm on jury duty. I parked there at around 7:40 in the morning and selected the "juror" option, and it expired at 4:40
I was there yesterday for jury duty as well. I noticed that on my parking receipt it did say until 440pm. Thought it was strange. I was not selected so I was out of there by 1pm.

So now you want the gov to tell prople how to run their businesses? I bet you voted for Hillary.
Did I mention mostly foreigners own these lots and most of the FQ?

Bicycle parking is free and New Orleans is fairly bike friendly. Used to be how I got around a lot down there, especially if I was going to the CBD or FQ.

I went to run an errand on Magazine St a year ago and parked my car in some run-down grocery store's empty parking lot for 5 minutes. I get back and the parking lot attendant who had been hiding in his car had already finished putting the boot on my car. I was fricking pissed. Had to pay $90 for that shite. But I learned my lesson. No free parking in NOLA
You parked at Breaux Mart with signs all over their parking lot stating that you will get booted if you park in the lot and go somewhere other than Breaux Mart. You could have parked on any of the streets perpendicular to Magazine right there without having to pay.

There are no "run down" grocery stores on Magazine

If you can't then use it when you have a recess
